Silicone is an organic polymer synthetic material containing silicon element in the molecular main chain, which is mainly divided into four categories of products: silicone rubber, silicone oil, silicone resin and silane coupling agent. At present, silicone products used in coatings and other industries are mostly silicone resin, which is based on Si - O - Si chain, and silicon atoms are linked to a variety of organic groups. Belongs to this kind of compounds inorganic, and organic structure of the polymer, both inorganic material and organic material, the performance of its dielectric properties over a wide range of temperature, humidity, frequency stability, also has excellent oxidation resistance, chemical resistance, electric insulation, radiation resistance, weather resistance, hydrophobic, flame retardant, resistance to salt fog, prevent mould features such as; Widely used in electronics, light industry, textile, construction, medical and other industries. However, due to higher curing temperature (250 ~ 300℃) and longer curing time, the mechanical properties, adhesion and resistance to organic solvents of the film are poor.
In modern industry, polyester resin is the raw material for the manufacture of polyester fiber, coating, film and engineering plastics. It is usually obtained by esterification and condensation reaction of diacid and dialcohol. A common feature of this kind of polymer is that the various chain nodes of its macromolecules are connected by ester groups, known as polyester. Polyester has the advantages of brightness, fullness, high hardness, good physical and mechanical properties and good chemical corrosion resistance. But there are some defects such as poor water resistance and poor construction performance.
Modification of polyester resin with organosilicone makes the advantages of the two kinds of polymer materials complementary to each other, which can greatly improve the properties of the resin and extend its application range.
