Under normal conditions, gaseous silica is white amorphous flocculent translucent solid colloidal nanoparticles (particle size less than 100nm), non-toxic, with huge specific surface area. The gaseous silica is composed of nano silica with purity up to 99% and particle size up to 10~20nm, but the preparation process is complicated and expensive. Is divided into traditional of precipitated silica and special precipitation of precipitated silica white carbon black, the former refers to sulfuric acid, hydrochloric acid, CO2 and water glass as the basic raw material to produce the silica, the latter refers to the supergravity technology, sol-gel, chemical crystal method, secondary crystallization or reverse micellar microemulsion method and other special production of silicon dioxide. Precipitated white carbon black is mainly used as reinforcing agent of natural rubber and synthetic rubber, toothpaste friction agent, etc. Gas phase white carbon black is mainly used as reinforcing agent of silicone rubber, coating and thickening agent of unsaturated resin, ultrafine silica gel and aerogel are mainly used as matting agent of coating, thickening agent, opening agent of plastic film, etc.
White carbon black as an environmental protection, excellent performance of the auxiliary agent, mainly used in rubber products (including high temperature vulcanized silicone rubber), textile, paper, pesticide, food additives. From the growth rate of white carbon black production in the four years from 2004 to 2008, the four-year compound growth rate is 13.3%. In 2009, there were more than 60 white carbon black production enterprises in China, with a production capacity of about 1 million tons and a output of 750,000 tons. China's production and sales volume ranked first in the world.
