Pressure-sensitive adhesives are widely used in electronic appliances, mainly in the following aspects.


1. Electrical insulation. Electrical insulation is mainly transformer, electromagnetic winding winding insulation and outsourcing, wire and cable joints and end insulation. The most commonly used are polyvinyl chloride tape and polyester tape. Silicone pressure sensitive adhesives, tapes made of glass cloth, Teflon or polyimide are required for heat resistance. Small transformers and low-voltage coils are made of polyvinyl chloride, polyester, polypropylene or pressure-sensitive adhesive tapes of impregnated, coated paper and cloth as winding insulation, end fixing and outer sealing. For large transformers requiring heat resistance, aramid and glass cloth tapes should be used, and polyimide, polytetrafluoroethylene or silicone-impregnated glass cloth tapes can also be used. In order to improve the electrical insulation performance of the transformer, vacuum immersion treatment of the insulating varnish is generally carried out, and the pressure-sensitive adhesive tape is resistant to the impregnation of the insulating varnish.


2. Solder masking and surface protection. The connection part of the printed circuit board is subjected to an electroplating process to improve the contact performance. When the board is subjected to wave soldering, it is necessary to mask the portion where the tin is not applied; a masking tape is used for spraying. Masking tapes are generally made of high-strength thin paper, crepe paper or polyester film. It is also required to be solvent resistant, and the wave soldering masking tape requires an instantaneous high temperature resistance of 230 ° C or higher. The high-grade nameplates and painted surfaces for household appliances, the surface of the picture tube glass screen, and the surface of the electronic calculator are mostly protected by a polyethylene film-based protective film (a special pressure-sensitive tape). It is required to be easily peeled off, and the pressure sensitive adhesive should not remain and contaminate the protective surface. Protective films are also used for semiconductor and integrated circuit silicon.


3. Cluster fixation. Flame-retardant polyvinyl chloride tape is used for the bundling and end treatment of electromagnetic coils such as deflection coils and degaussing coils of television sets. Fixing and sealing of electrical conduits or splints of refrigerators, washing machines, etc.; fixing and sealing of insulating materials such as foamed polyurethane or foamed polyethylene during the production process of refrigerators and air conditioners, between the tube of the picture tube and the explosion-proof hoop The buffers are all applied with various pressure sensitive tapes. When the printed circuit board is assembled, the plug-in automation needs to arrange the components neatly. The paper-based pressure-sensitive adhesive tape can be used to make the individual components into a strip-shaped and orderly package form. The whole machine factory is pre-programmed according to the various components in order. The instruction program is used for secondary sequence sorting, which is the only method in the electronics industry that can perform high-speed automatic plug-ins. In addition, automated production of ceramic capacitors, polyester capacitors and resistors requires pressure sensitive tape for tape fixing. Electronic devices tend to be ultra-small, and the production of chip-like (lead-free) components will increase, which will greatly increase the amount of pressure-sensitive adhesive tape and hot-melt pressure-sensitive adhesive used for packaging leadless components.


4. Double-sided paste. The installation of the audio equipment scale board and the use of double-sided tape in the door indicating sign of the color TV can greatly improve the workability. The double-sided tape with foamed polyurethane as the substrate is also widely used for shockproofing in audio-visual equipment. The end portion of the flexible wiring board required for miniaturization of an electronic computer and the like, the installation of the diaphragm switch used on the electronic calculator keyboard, and the mounting and fixing of the polarizing pole of the liquid crystal display use double-sided tape.
