The preparation process of the pressure-sensitive adhesive tape often adopts different processes and equipments depending on the substrate, the type of the glue, the type of the film, and the shape of the tape.
1. Formulation of pressure sensitive adhesive. The pressure sensitive adhesive suitable for solvent coating first dissolves the adhesive in a solvent, then adds other components, and mixes it to prepare a glue having a certain viscosity for use. If the binder is rubber, it is best to first masticate to increase the fast tack and solubility, and to reduce the cohesive force appropriately. Pressure-sensitive adhesive suitable for roll coating, generally in the order of rubber, anti-aging agent, resin (tackifier), plasticizer, viscosity modifier and filler, evenly mixed on the rubber mixer, and then added a small amount The solvent can be diluted to a certain viscosity.
2. Coating of pressure sensitive adhesive. After the pressure-sensitive adhesive, the primer, and the back treatment agent are prepared, they may be applied to the substrate by a solvent method or a roll-on method to remove the solvent, and the thickness of the adhesive layer is preferably 0.02-0.03 mm. When coating by the solvent method, the primer and the back treatment agent are first applied to two different faces of the substrate during the advancement of the substrate, and the pressure-sensitive adhesive is applied after drying, and the whole process is continuously performed. The solvent method is simple in equipment, easy to operate, and has a wide range of coating thickness, and is particularly suitable for applying glue on a substrate having a low strength. The disadvantage is that it consumes a lot of solvent, increases costs and pollutes the environment. The sizing sequence of the rolling method is basically the same as the solvent method, except that the glue is distributed on the roller, and the substrate to be coated is passed between the two rolls (one or both of which are coated with glue) to complete the coating, the glue layer. The thickness can be adjusted by the distance between the two rolls. The roller coating method does not use or use less solvent, the cost is lower, the pollution is small, the thickness of the rubber layer is uniform, the construction is safe and convenient, but the equipment is relatively complicated, and it is only suitable to apply the glue on the substrate with higher strength. Improved roll-to-roll methods such as isolating roll-to-roll methods are available for a wide range of applications and can be applied to any substrate.
