By learning from the experience of multinational companies, China's organic silicon industry can be changed from the following aspects.
The first is to recognize the short board.
At present, the main products of domestic enterprises are mostly low-end products. The sales generated per ton of cyclosiloxane is quite different from that of multinational companies. Therefore, it is necessary to transform and upgrade early.
In addition, companies should be aware of the fact that there are a significant number of cyclosiloxane exports, indicating that structural excesses have emerged. If we continue to expand production capacity, domestic low-end bulk products will be pressed against each other and the export of cyclosiloxane at the price of “cabbage” may occur. Therefore, the conversion of cyclosiloxane into high value-added downstream products should be the focus of coordinated development of production, learning and research.
The second is to accurately assess the advantages and disadvantages of a large number of exports of cyclosiloxane.
A large number of exporting cyclosiloxanes are indeed beneficial to enterprises to increase their income and earn foreign exchange. But there are also drawbacks: on the one hand, domestic enterprises use high-energy raw silicon, and work hard to obtain pure intermediates through complex synthetic operations, and the export is only slightly higher than the cost of the fly; on the other hand, transnational The company takes a strategic vision and places it in emerging markets, especially China. However, Chinese companies are directly or indirectly conveying fine materials for them at low prices.
The third is to plan ahead and optimize the process.
In 2016 and 2017, the European Commission twice attempted to nominate D4 as a Stockholm Convention Persistent Organic Pollutants (POPs), which, although not successful, will continue to promote nominations. If D4 is included in POPs, it will inevitably limit the number of companies that produce and use cyclosiloxane. To this end, domestic companies must make early preparations to avoid passive.
Fourth, enterprises should pay attention to the development of downstream products with higher output when laying out silicone projects.
