Network transformers are also called network isolation transformers, referred to as "data pumps" or "network filters." The general assembly process mainly includes DIP and SMT. Today, our main target is SMT, which is a patch transformer. Before the network transformer was born, the long-distance cable transmission problem has been plaguing the developers. In short, its main role has three points:
1. Eliminate the "gradual voltage". The generation of a graded voltage may cause the integrated circuit chip to burn out.
2. Eliminate external electromagnetic interference. Electromagnetic interference, including lightning interference, not only affects signal transmission, but even breaks down integrated circuit chips.
3. Eliminate electromagnetic noise generated inside the device. The integrated circuit inside the device is a collection of dense components, and its intermittent power supply opening and closing, clock signal, etc. will generate a large amount of electromagnetic noise, which will cause serious electromagnetic interference to other electronic instruments.
4. Eliminate the problem of impedance matching. That is to eliminate the characteristic impedance problem of cables and twisted pairs.
In general, on a network interface, the network transformer will perform differential mode signal transmission, electrical voltage isolation, impedance matching, waveform repair, signal clutter suppression, and elimination of electromagnetic interference.
The main structure of the network transformer is: core, outer casing, enameled wire, chemical materials, PIN pin, etc. The specific structure and function will be introduced in detail later.
In order to extend the service life of the network transformer and expand the use environment, organic materials are generally potted inside. The main potting materials are divided into two types, epoxy potting materials or silicone potting materials.
