Silicone resin coating is an elemental organic coating with silicone resin or modified silicone resin as the main film-forming substance, referred to as silicone coating. Elemental organic coating is a general term for coatings with elemental organic polymers as the main film-forming substance, including silicone, organic titanium, organic fluorine, organic aluminum, organic zirconium coatings, etc. Among them, silicone resin coating has the largest output. Elemental organic coating is a compound between organic polymers and inorganic compounds. It has special thermal stability, insulation, high temperature resistance, chemical resistance, water resistance, weather resistance and other characteristics. It is widely used in defense industry, electrical industry and other industries.


The properties of silicone resin coating are as follows:
Silicone resin coating is a relatively expensive insulating coating with outstanding heat resistance, cold resistance and weather resistance.
① Silicone resin coating has strong heat resistance
This is the biggest feature of silicone resin coating. Pure silicone resin varnish can withstand high temperatures of 200-250 ℃. When formulated with flake aluminum powder, glass, heat-resistant fillers, etc., the coating can withstand high temperatures of 300-700 ℃. Modified silicone resin and high-temperature resistant pigments can produce coatings that can withstand high temperatures of 200-300 ℃. After drying, the paint film is resistant to boiling water and superheated water vapor.
② Excellent weather resistance of silicone resin coating
Pure silicone resin coating still has good impact strength and flexibility at -50 ℃. After polyester modification, it can be used at low temperatures of -80 ℃.
③ Outstanding insulation of silicone resin coating
It has good electrical insulation under high temperature and humid conditions, which can reach H level and the breakdown voltage reaches 60-100 kV/mm.
④ Strong chemical corrosion resistance of silicone resin coating
The paint film does not change under the conditions of 100 ℃, 3% alkali solution immersion for 100 h or 5% salt water immersion for 70 h. However, it has poor corrosion resistance to dilute hydrochloric acid and dilute sulfuric acid, and weak oil resistance. It can be used as a lubricant, but will soften when exposed to gasoline.
⑤ Silicone resin coatings have high mildew resistance
Silicone resin coatings do not contain oil, and mold cannot survive on the paint film, so they have good mildew resistance.
⑥ Silicone resin coatings have good adhesion
Silicone resin coatings are suitable for steel, glass, and aluminum as substrates.
⑦ Silicone resin coatings have high curing temperatures
Most silicone resin coatings require high-temperature baking.
⑧ Silicone resin coatings have poor resistance to organic solvents.
⑨ Pure silicone resin coatings have low viscosity and are easy to precipitate with enamel made from pigments.
⑩ Silicone coatings have very low surface tension and excellent waterproof properties.
