Corrosion and hazards of metals
Metallic material is damaged by the action of surrounding medium, which is called metal Corrosion. Corrosion of metals is the most common form of corrosion. During corrosion, chemical or electrochemical multiphase reactions take place at the interface of the metal, turning the metal into an oxidized (ionic) state. This will significantly reduce the strength, plasticity, toughness and other mechanical properties of metal materials, destroy the geometric shape of metal components, increase the wear between parts, deteriorate electrical and optical physical properties, shorten the service life of equipment, and even cause catastrophic accidents such as fire and explosion.


Methods for preventing and controlling metal corrosion
There are four main methods of metal corrosion: ① improve the corrosion resistance of metal materials. In the process of manufacturing metal parts, adding corrosion resistant materials that are not easy to react with the surrounding media, such as chromium, nickel OR change the metallographic structure of the metal; (2) Adopt coating method for corrosion prevention. Coating method includes three categories: coating and spraying, coating and chemical conversion film; (3) Deal with corrosive media. But this method can only be carried out under the condition of limited amount of corrosive medium, and of course cannot be handled for the atmosphere filled with space. ④ Electrochemical protection. When electrolytes are PRESENT ON THE metal surface, direct current is used to change the potential of the protected metal so that corrosion is slowed or stopped, which is called electrochemical protection.

The hardness of nano ceramic coating is up to 9H, with acid and alkali resistance. After curing, the coating is wear-resistant, scratch resistant, graffiti resistant, dustproof, oil proof, antifouling and other characteristics. Ceramic materials have a longer service life and can be used in many fields.
At present, the main anticorrosive components of the anticorrosive coating contain single component or multi-component of nano-alumina, nano-zirconia, nano-titanium oxide and nano-silicon oxide. Coating formulations are made according to different application conditions.
