Silicone emulsion
Silicone emulsion is a form of silicone oil. The following two aspects of silicone oil fabric soft finishing agent and silicone oil emulsion defoaming agent are introduced.


One, silicone fabric soft finishing agent
Silicone emulsion is mainly used as a soft finishing agent for silicone oil fabric. The first generation of silicone fabric finishing agents are mechanical mixtures of dimethyl silicone oil and hydrogen-containing silicone oil (and their derivatives). The second generation of silicone fabric finishing agent is hydroxy-terminated polydimethylsiloxane emulsion, which is made of octmethylcyclotetrasiloxane monomer, water, emulsifier, catalyst and other raw materials under certain conditions. Due to polymerization and emulsion is one step, thus has time is short, high efficiency, simple equipment, convenient operation, and the emulsion is very stable, very uniform, made of polymer particles with active group on both ends (hydroxyl) can be further reaction film, to improve the application effect of the emulsion, which is less than the mechanical emulsified silicone oil.


Hydroxyl silicone oil emulsion can be divided into cationic emulsion, negative ion emulsion, non ion emulsion and compound ion emulsion according to the different surfactants used.


1. Cationic hydroxyl silicone oil emulsion
The emulsifier used in the polymerization of hydroxyl emulsion is usually quaternary amine salt (octadecyl trimethyl ammonium chloride was reported in foreign literature), and the catalyst is ammonium hydroxide. Cationic hydroxyl emulsion can be used for finishing all kinds of textiles. It has the properties of improving fabric feel, elasticity, smoothness and crisp. Its other unique advantage is the ideal waterproof agent of fabric, and methyl containing hydrogen silicone oil emulsion, waterproof performance and waterproof durability can reach a very high level, can be used as waterproof agent of vinylon canopy-covered canvas, polyester cloth waterproof agent.


2. Anionic hydroxyl silicone oil emulsion
Anionic hydroxyl emulsion is characterized by good compatibility in fabric finishing agent and very stable emulsion. In particular, most of the auxiliaries in textile printing and dyeing are anionic. If cationic hydroxyl milk is used, it is often easy to cause broken milk and bleach oil. Anionic hydroxyl milk can avoid this disadvantage, so it is more popular with users and is very widely used.


3. Compound ionic hydroxyl silicone oil emulsion
Cationic hydroxyl emulsion is an excellent fabric softener, but the emulsion is not resistant to hard water, and can not be used with dimethyl dihydroxy ethylene urea resin (2D) resin, catalyst magnesium chloride and anionic whitening agent in the same bath, so there are certain limitations in the use. In addition, due to the poor stability of the emulsion, the silicone polymer is easy to separate from the emulsion and float on the liquid surface, commonly known as "float oil". If the cationic emulsifier and non-ionic emulsifier are used in the emulsion polymerization process, the disadvantage of preparing hydroxyl silicone oil emulsion can be overcome. The silicone emulsion can withstand hard water, be used in bath with 2D resin, magnesium chloride and whitening agent VBL, and has good heat resistance and freezing resistance.
