Softeners can be divided into two categories: fatty acid derivatives and organic silicon.
Fatty acid derivatives are traditionally widely used softeners, and silicone is a new variety. The development of silicone softener is very fast, and new products with various properties and functions are developed and marketed constantly.
Because silicone softener not only has better effect than fatty acid derivative softener, but also has good durability, so it has occupied the main position in the use of textile softener after finishing. However, because of its good durability, it is difficult to remove it, making it difficult to repair or restore the dyeing process. If the silicone oil spot is more headache, it is difficult to repair.
Organosilicon softeners are mostly cationic, weak cationic or non-ionic in ionic properties. Therefore, in the production and processing, it is often treated with the fixing agent in the same bath, and the temperature of the treatment bath is generally 30 ~ 45℃. Do not wash after soft treatment, after baking its reaction into film fastness is higher. If not properly operated, silicone softener is easy to demulsification bleaching problem. Some need to be processed in the dyeing machine, such as garments, yarn, loose fiber, and softener applied in the dyeing VAT after dyeing. After a long time, the residue of organic silicon substances in the equipment is likely to occur. It is more difficult to remove and repair than fatty acid derivative softeners.
