Silicone resin coating is a kind of elemental organic coating based on silicone resin or modified silicone resin as the main film forming material, mainly divided into pure silicone resin coating and modified silicone resin coating, heat resistance and cold resistance, insulation, adhesion, flexibility, mildew resistance and other excellent performance. Modified silicone resin is widely used, including mechanical mixed type and polycondensation type. It can be modified by adding different fillers or pigments to enhance its heat resistance, insulation and weather resistance.
Researchers at home and abroad have used different ways to modify silicone resin coatings and achieved remarkable results. Lee et al. introduced the self-healing agents dimethylsiloxane and dimethylhydrosiloxane double emulsion into the core of core-shell nanofiber coating by static electricity. The results showed that the protective coating had high transparency (90% light transmittance), strong self-healing ability and strong corrosion resistance. Balgude et al. [20] modified silane to study its corrosion protection against carbon steel, and characterized and analyzed four coatings with different silane contents (5%, 10%, 15% and 20%). The results show that: Compared with other preparations, 20% silane modified coating forms more oxo-silicon metal covalent bonds at the interface of metal coating, and its overall performance is stronger.
Although the silicone resin coating has excellent high and low temperature resistance and weather resistance, chemical resistance, wear resistance and other outstanding advantages, but its low strength, low adhesion with the substrate shortcomings also limit its application scope. The future work is mainly to adopt different methods of modification, such as inorganic - organic mixing technology, so that it has the best characteristics of organic and inorganic; By exploring the film forming mechanism of organosilicone resin coating, various polymers such as acrylic resin and epoxy resin were modified to obtain organosilicone modified coating with better performance. Preparation of crosslinked silicone resin coating to enhance its compactness, improve water resistance, solvent resistance and heat resistance; To make silicone resin coating to low pollution, health and environmental protection direction development is also the focus of future research and development.
