Since the nineties, a lot of work has been done and great progress has been made in the research of weather-resistant, water-resistant, fouling resistant and scrubbing resistant Si-acrylic coating, acid rain resistant and high solid content Si-acrylic coating. Shanghai architectural research institute has produced a silicone acrylic resin named ruruwang, which has excellent weather resistance and stain resistance, and can be used to produce high grade exterior wall coatings for a variety of purposes. The resin is synthesized from domestic raw materials with low cost, simple production process and excellent performance. Sun Zhongxin et al. studied the preparation technology of silicone modified acrylic resin as coating, and tested its weather resistance and environmental adaptability, and proved that silicone acrylic coating is a kind of high-grade coating with excellent comprehensive properties. Silicone modified acrylic resin has better weather resistance and solvent resistance than unmodified acrylic resin. The grafting reaction method was used to prepare organosilicone acrylic acid resin. The grafting materials were characterized by infrared spectroscopy and distillation. The morphology and structure of the composite coating were observed by scanning electron microscopy. The results show that the silicone chain is enriched on the coating surface of the silicone modified acrylic resin, and the weatherability of the modified resin coating is improved obviously. The silicone acrylic coating is a new type of high weatherability coating with excellent weatherability and stain resistance.
