Polysilazane is widely used in coating and varnish formulation, and play its excellent weather resistance, ultraviolet light resistance, corrosion resistance, stain resistance, graffiti resistance, scratch resistance, heat resistance and other characteristics. The dry film thickness of polysilazane varnish usually ranges from 10 nm to 2 μm. Compared with amino-alkyd varnish system and two-component polyurethane varnish system, polysilazane varnish has better light retention and weather resistance. Compared with silicone modified polyester varnish system, polysilazane varnish has better heat resistance. After 2 400 h salt spray resistance test (ISO 7253 -- 2001), the aluminum coated with polysilazane coating showed no corrosion. The steel coated with polysilazane coating was not corroded after 2 400 h condensation test (ISO 6270.2 -- 2005). The water contact Angle of polysilazane coating is about 95°, and can be maintained for a long time, and the use of appropriate additives, the water contact Angle can increase to more than 120°. Low viscosity, solvent free, fluorine free, excellent adhesion to most substrates and ultra high hardness (9H+).
When the polysilazanes are heated to a minimum of 450 ° C, the polymer is eventually converted to inorganic ceramics (SiOx) with extremely high hardness (9H) and extremely high heat resistance (up to 1 800 ° C). In addition, polysilazanes can be combined with the vast majority of resins that do not react with them, such as thermoplastic acrylic acid, organic silicone, organic polysilazanes and inorganic polysilazanes and other mixtures of cold mixture.
