4. Water resistance
In the molecular structure of silicone resin, its organic groups such as methyl are arranged outward, and do not contain polar groups, so silicone resin water absorption is low, with excellent hydrophobicity. Generally speaking, its resistance to cold water is strong, the resistance to boiling water is weak; Poor resistance to steam, especially high pressure steam.
05. Electrical Insulation
Under normal conditions, the electrical properties of silicone film are similar to those of organic resin with excellent electrical properties, but under high temperature and humidity conditions, the electrical properties of the former is far better than the latter. It can maintain good electrical insulation properties in a wide range of temperature and frequency, and because of its high heat resistance, the electrical properties of silicone resin at high temperature reduce very little, and the change of high frequency characteristics with frequency is also very small. Although the resistivity of silicone resins also decreases with increasing temperature, it does so much more slowly than that of organic resins.
