There are two main production processes of functional silane: indirect process and direct process.
The main production method of silane coupling agent is indirect method.
Indirect method takes trichlorosilane as the main raw material, reacts with methanol, ethanol, propylene chloride, acetylene and other raw materials respectively to produce trialkoxy silane, chloropropyl trioxilane, vinyl trioxilane, propyl trioxilane and other intermediates.
Intermediates with methyl acrylic acid sodium, allyl glycidyl ether, polysulfide, liquid nitrogen, methanol, ethanol, ethyl ketone oxime separately reaction, such as can get all kinds of functional silane, such as epoxy silane and silane acryloyl oxygen radicals, sulfur-containing amino silane and silane, vinyl silane three oxygen radicals, vinyl triethoxy silane and vinyl butyl ketone oxime based functional silane, etc.
The advantage of the indirect method is that the output is larger and part of the by-products can be recycled, such as the recycling of hydrogen chloride.
However, the indirect method has long production process, large input of raw materials and equipment, chlorine pollution and corrosion problems.
The main production method of silane crosslinking agent is direct method.
Using silicon powder, methanol or ethanol as raw materials, the direct method directly syntheses trialkoxy silanes (trimethoxy silanes, triethoxy silanes, etc.), and then further reacts to form functional silanes such as epoxy-silanes, acrylloxy silanes and tetraethoxy silanes.
The direct method has the advantages of shorter synthesis steps, less chlorine contamination, lower impurity content and higher resource utilization.
However, the disadvantage of the direct method is that only a small amount of silane can be produced by the direct method, and the quantity of the product is limited.
The main types of silane coupling agents are sulfur-containing silane coupling agents, aminosilanes, epoxy-silanes, vinylsilanes, and methacryloxysilanes.
The main types of silane crosslinking agents are deacetic acid type, deoxime type, deacetone type, dealcohol type, and denitromethyl benzoamide type.
