In 2004, American Dow Corning and German WACKER established a joint venture to build a plant in China and invested in a 190,000-ton / year siloxane project in Zhangjiagang City, Jiangsu. In 2007, Zhejiang Xin'an Group and American Momentive High-tech Materials Group signed a joint venture agreement Cooperative construction of a 100,000-ton / year silicone monomer project in Jiande, Zhejiang; China Bluestar Group acquired the silicone business of Rhodia in France in 2006, becoming the fourth largest silicone production company in the world. So far, four of the world's top five silicone monomer manufacturers have achieved manufacturing in China.

At the same time, China ’s domestic organic silicon monomer production capacity is also expanding rapidly. In the short 6 years from 2004 to 2010, China ’s organic silicon monomer production plants have grown from 4 to 15 with a production capacity of 250,000 tons. It has increased to 1.7 million tons per year, accounting for nearly 40% of the global total production capacity, and has become the country with the largest organic silicon monomer production scale in the world.
