The earliest development of silicone glass resin and high-temperature mica binder in China was Huo Changshun, Chen Rufeng, etc. of Chenguang Chemical Research Institute of the Ministry of Chemical Industry. In the late 1970s, CTS-103 silicone resin, commonly known as "silicone glass resin", was successfully developed by the hydrolysis and polycondensation reaction of monomethyltriethoxysilane in the presence of an acid catalyst. The resin was used for the treatment of high-grade paper and the protection of metal surfaces, and it can also be used for the mica flakes or mica powder bonding. In 1980, Shanghai Resin Factory Fang Sanhua, Xue Zhiqing and Li Yansheng respectively adopted solid cation exchange resins as temporary acid catalysts. Fang Sanhua used monomethyltriethoxysilane; Xue Zhiqing and Li Yansheng used monomethyltriethoxysilane as the main ingredient and added a small amount of dimethyldiethoxysilane to synthesize SAR-1 and SAR-2. Silicone. Because the resin has no residual inorganic acid, the product storage performance is very stable, and no cementation is found after one year. Because SAR-2 introduces a small amount of difunctional raw materials, the product is hard and soft, and the application range is wider. Can be widely used in glass, plastic, metal and other materials; especially suitable for the protection of transparent plastics such as polycarbonate, polystyrene and polyvinyl chloride, and as a moisture-proof insulation protective coating for electronic components, and soon form large-scale production.

From 1980 to 1982, Qi Hongqiu, Li Yan, and Cui Zuomin of Chenguang Chemical Research Institute; from 1981 to 1983, Xu Zhihong and Xue Zhiqing of Shanghai Resin Factory used monomethyltrichlorosilane as the main raw material to prepare silicone high temperature resistant mica adhesive. The product grades are MR-30 and SAR-8. In addition to the high temperature resistance, electrical insulation, moisture resistance, and water resistance of general silicone products, these products also have high adhesion and flame retardancy. Mainly used in the manufacture of high temperature resistant powder mica boards for electrical appliances, electronic tube insulation, high temperature resistant powder mica boards for support, and mica boards for internal insulation of welding machine turns. Various heat-resistant pigments can also be added as smokeless anticorrosive coatings, and it can also be used as a non-combustible molding compound or ceramic molding resin composed of glass fiber composite laminate and silica. China has abundant mica powder resources, which can be developed into a series of high-temperature-resistant insulating mica board products.

Shanghai Resin Factory SAR-8, SAR-9 adopts its own process characteristics: hydrolysis, alcoholysis, concentration and polycondensation of the organic silicon monomer. SAR-8 and SAR-9 were put into production in 1983, and the output has reached nearly 1,000 tons. The main raw material of this product is monomethyltrichlorosilane, so whether MR-30 or SAR-8 is produced, SAR-9 can greatly increase the value of monomethyltrichlorosilane.
