As a highly crosslinked silicone resin, IOTA 91002 provides excellent film-forming performance and hydrophobicity. When incorporated into makeup formulations, the resin can contribute to a more durable surface film and help maintain the appearance of the product after application.
Its compatibility with volatile silicone oils and low-viscosity silicone fluids also allows formulators to design different texture and application profiles.
The resin is supplied as a white powder, with a bulk density of approximately 0.56–0.61 g/cm³ and a low volatile content. Before use, it should be dissolved in a suitable non-aromatic organic solvent and then incorporated into the cosmetic formulation.
For color cosmetics, the recommended addition level is generally 2–10%, although the optimal level should be determined according to the specific formulation.
By combining film formation, water resistance, rheology control, and silicone compatibility, IOTA 91002 provides formulators with a versatile option for advanced makeup products.
