Pressure-sensitive adhesive is an adhesive that can be bonded instantaneously under a slight pressure. Pressure-sensitive adhesive is an adhesive for making adhesive tapes. It is divided into three types: solvent-activated, heated and pressure-sensitive. Among them, pressure-sensitive type is the most convenient and rapid development.




1 classification of pressure sensitive adhesive




The pressure-sensitive adhesive can be divided into a rubber-type pressure-sensitive adhesive and a resin-type pressure-sensitive adhesive according to the type of the adhesive material, and the rubber-type pressure-sensitive adhesive is composed of a rubber as a binder, a tackifier, a filler, an anti-aging agent and the like. According to the type of rubber, it can be divided into natural rubber, polyisobutylene rubber, styrene-butadiene rubber pressure sensitive adhesive and the like. The adhesive of the resin type pressure sensitive adhesive is a synthetic resin, and has a homopolymer resin and a copolymer resin. When preparing pressure sensitive adhesives, it is necessary to add tackifiers, softeners, fillers and anti-aging agents. According to the type of resin, it can be classified into polyolefin, chloroacetic acid copolymer, acrylic resin, silicone and fluororesin pressure sensitive adhesive.

In addition to the binder, the pressure-sensitive adhesive is also added with an auxiliary substance such as a tackifier.


  1. The adhesive of the pressure sensitive adhesive has rubber or synthetic resin, and its function is to give the adhesive layer sufficient cohesive strength and adhesion, and the dosage is 30%-50%.


  2. Tackifier. The tackifier has rosin and its derivatives, petroleum resin, etc., and its function is to increase the adhesion of the adhesive layer. Its dosage is 20%-40%.


  3. Plasticizer. The plasticizer used is a plasticizer for general plastic processing, and its function is to increase the fast viscosity of the adhesive layer. The amount is 0-10%.


  4. Anti-aging agent. Generally, rubber and plastic anti-aging agents are available, and the effect is to increase the service life, and the dosage is 0-2%.


  5. Filler. The filler used is a general plastic filler, which functions to increase the cohesive strength of the adhesive layer and reduce the cost, and the dosage is 0-40%. In addition, for some pressure-sensitive adhesives, it is also necessary to add a viscosity modifier, a vulcanizing agent, a solvent, and the like.
