Vulcanization of raw gum

1. The vulcanization agents of phenyl silicone rubber and methyl vinyl silicone rubber are not exactly the same, but there are some similarities. To be specific:
Methyl vinyl silicone rubber (VMQ) : Organic peroxides are commonly used as curing agents, such as diisopropylbenzene peroxide (DCP) or Benzoyl peroxide (BPO). These vulcanizing agents are vulcanized by initiating a cross-linking reaction between vinyl groups.

Phenyl silicone rubber (PVMQ or PMQ) : Organic peroxides can also be used as vulcanizing agents, but due to the presence of phenyl groups, phenyl silicone rubber has higher heat resistance and better antioxidant properties. Therefore, vulcanizing agents suitable for their characteristics may be selected, and even other types of vulcanizing systems may be considered in some special applications.

Although both can use similar peroxides as vulcanizing agents, the formulation of phenyl silicone rubber may be adjusted according to its characteristics.

2. Cross-linked BIPB is benzene (Bis(2-tert-Butylperoxyisopropyl) peroxide, which is an organic peroxide sulfide. BIPB is often used in the vulcanization process of silicone rubber and other polymer materials, through the decomposition of free radicals at high temperatures, triggering cross-linking reactions, thereby forming a three-dimensional network structure, improving the strength, heat resistance and chemical stability of the material.
In the vulcanization of silicone rubber, BIPB is considered to be an effective vulcanization agent, especially in the case of high temperature vulcanization. Compared with other peroxide curing agents, BIPB has the advantages of moderate decomposition temperature, high cross-linking efficiency and low residual odor.

3. Double 24, double 25, DCP are commonly used organic peroxide vulcanizing agents, usually used in the vulcanization process of silicone rubber, ethylene propylene rubber and other polymer materials. Here are their details:
Bis(2,4-dichlorobenzoyl) peroxide) :

Bis24, also known as bisperoxide (2, 4-dichlorobenzoyl), is a peroxide vulcanizing agent. It breaks down at high temperatures, producing free radicals that trigger a cross-linking reaction in the polymer. This vulcanizing agent is usually used in situations where lower temperature vulcanization is required, such as in some specific rubber products.
Bis 25 (Bis(2,5-dimethyl-2,5-di(tert-butylperoxy)hexane) :

Di-25, also known as di-peroxide (2, 5-dimethyl-2, 5-di (tert-butylperoxy) hexane), is a highly efficient organic peroxide vulcanizing agent, widely used in silicone rubber, ethylene-propylene rubber and other polymer materials. This vulcanizing agent breaks down at higher temperatures, releasing free radicals that promote the cross-linking of rubber molecules.
DCP (Dicumyl peroxide) :

DCP, also known as diisopropylbenzene peroxide, is one of the most common organic peroxide curing agents, widely used in silicone rubber, ethylene-propylene rubber and other polymer materials vulcanization. It decomposes at higher temperatures, produces free radicals, triggers the cross-linking reaction of rubber molecules, and forms a network structure with elasticity and heat resistance.
These three curing agents have their own characteristics and scope of application, the specific choice of curing agent depends on the required curing conditions and the performance requirements of rubber products.
