Definition:
Mica tape, also known as fire-resistant mica tape, is made by (mica tape machine) and is a fire-resistant insulating material. According to the use, it can be divided into: mica tape for motors and mica tape for cables. According to the structure, it can be divided into: double-sided tape, single-sided tape, three-in-one tape, double-film tape, single-film tape, etc. According to mica, it can be divided into: synthetic mica tape, phlogopite tape, and white mica tape. Mica tape for fire-resistant safety cables is a high-performance mica insulation product with excellent high temperature resistance and combustion resistance.

Performance
Normal temperature performance: synthetic mica tape is the best, white mica tape is the second, and phlogopite tape is poor. Insulation performance at high temperature: synthetic mica tape is the best, phlogopite tape is the second, and white mica tape is poor. High temperature resistance: Synthetic mica tape is fluorphlogopite tape, which does not contain crystal water, has a melting point of 1375℃, a large safety margin, and the best high temperature resistance. Phlogopite releases crystal water above 800℃, and its high temperature resistance is second, and muscovite releases crystal water at 600℃, and its high temperature resistance is poor. Its performance is also attributed to the composite degree of the mica tape machine.

Synthetic
Synthetic mica is a large-sized, complete-crystal artificial mica synthesized under normal pressure conditions with fluoride ions replacing hydroxyl groups. Synthetic mica tape is made of mica paper made from synthetic mica as the main material, and then glass cloth is pasted on one or both sides with an adhesive using a mica tape machine. Glass cloth pasted on one side of mica paper is called "single-sided tape", and glass cloth pasted on both sides is called "double-sided tape". In the manufacturing process, several structural layers are bonded together, then dried in a furnace, then rolled up, and then slit into tapes of different specifications.
In addition to the characteristics of natural mica tape, namely, small expansion coefficient, high dielectric strength, high resistivity and uniform dielectric constant, the main feature of synthetic mica tape is high heat resistance, which can reach Class A fire resistance level (950-1000℃). The temperature resistance of synthetic mica tape is greater than 1000℃, the thickness range is 0.08-0.15mm, and the maximum supply width is 920mm.
A. Three-in-one: This product is made of glass cloth and polyester film on both sides, with powdered mica paper in the middle. It uses aminoborane-epoxy resin as adhesive, and is cut into a strip-shaped insulating material after bonding and baking;
B. Double-sided synthetic mica tape: It uses synthetic mica paper as the base material, glass fiber cloth as the double-sided reinforcement material, and silicone resin adhesive for bonding. It is the most ideal and preferred material for manufacturing fire-resistant wires and cables. It has the best fire resistance and is recommended for key projects.
C. Single-sided synthetic mica tape: With synthetic mica paper as the base material and glass fiber cloth as the single-sided reinforcement material, it is the most ideal material for manufacturing fire-resistant wires and cables. It has good fire resistance and is recommended for use in key projects.
