1. Mica powder:
Mica is a layered silicate with a flaky structure, a large diameter-to-thickness ratio, stable chemical properties, acid and alkali resistance, high temperature resistance (above 600°C), good electrical insulation, good wear resistance and abrasion resistance. It is an excellent functional filler. It is arranged in parallel and stacked in layers in the coating, which strongly blocks the penetration of corrosive substances into the coating film, improves the water resistance and salt spray resistance of the paint film, and enhances the anti-corrosion performance. At the same time, mica has a unique ultraviolet light shielding function, which can improve the weather resistance of the coating, prevent cracking, delay discoloration and powdering.
2. Silica powder:
Also known as quartz powder, Ge Rui silica powder is made from Chuzhou's unique quartz ore, refined through multiple processes. It has the characteristics of low oil absorption, acid and alkali resistance, easy dispersion, and anti-sedimentation, which can improve wear resistance, corrosion resistance and paint film hardness. Mainly used in anti-corrosion paint, floor paint, powder coating, water-based industrial paint, waterproof materials, fire-retardant coatings and other fields.
3. Calcium carbonate:
According to different production processes, it is divided into heavy calcium and light calcium (synthetic). Heavy calcium is processed from calcite as raw material. It is characterized by good stability and low cost. It is used as a filler. Due to its poor acid resistance, it is limited to its application in outdoor coatings and acidic environments. Light calcium is characterized by low density and fine particles, but poor stability.
4. Talc:
In industrial coatings, especially primers, talcum powder has good adhesion and is easy to polish. It can also play an anti-sagging role and has good construction performance. The disadvantage is that the oil absorption is high and it has matting properties. It is generally not used in high-gloss coatings. In addition, it is easy to powder and not weather-resistant. It is recommended to use less in outdoor coatings.
5. Barium sulfate:
Barium sulfate includes barite (natural barium) and precipitated barium sulfate. Barite is mainly used in primers to improve the strength of the paint film, good stability, low oil absorption, easy precipitation, and high-quality products are limited by resources. The performance of precipitated barium sulfate is better than that of natural barium, with high whiteness and fine texture.
6. Kaolin:
Kaolin has good anti-settling effect in coatings, good dispersion and suspension performance, good leveling and scrub resistance, which is helpful for anti-sagging and storage stability, and can also enhance the hiding power of the coating film. It is widely used in architectural coatings.
7. Wollastonite:
The main component of wollastonite is CaSiO3, and the particles are needle-shaped or fibrous in structure, which can improve the strength and scrub resistance of the coating film. Products that are easy to settle and have good quality are limited by resources.
