Due to the high molding temperature, the coloring of POM resin generally requires that the colorant should have good heat resistance. At the same time, due to the depolymerization of POM at high temperature (260 ℃), the product performance will be affected, so the colorant should not accelerate the degradation of POM. Acid, moisture and the combination of some metals can accelerate the depolymerization, so the colorant should be tested before coloring.
Generally, soluble dyes and inorganic pigments should be selected for the coloring of POM, and some organic pigments can also be used for POM. Because the color luminescent effect of this kind of high crystalline polymer requires more pigments to achieve medium to deep color, high-strength organic pigments can be generally used when coloring the deeper color of POM products.
Because POM is not acid resistant, this property must be taken into account especially when using carbon black and colored pigments. Generally, POM is colored with a single pigment or a single pigment concentrate widely used.
