Abstract: chlorphenamine maleate was used as the model drug, and Amberlite IRP-69 was used as the carrier to prepare the drug resin composite. Then, with the acrylic resin (Eudragit RS100) as the coating material, the chlorphenamine resin composite was coated by the way of ion exchange, and the influence of the surface coating process parameters was investigated by single factor, in order to prepare the microcapsule with good slow-release performance. In the scope of this experiment, the higher the drug loading, the higher the concentration of Eudragit RS100, the more the reaction medium (95% ethanol) and the higher the reaction temperature, the slower the drug release. These results suggest that the preparation of drug resin composite sustained-release microcapsules by surface coating method is simple and reproducible, which can be used for further preparation processing.

As the carrier of new drug delivery system, ion exchange resin can form drug resin complex with ionic drugs through ion exchange reaction [1-3]. The drug resin complex can be further processed to prepare a new drug delivery system that meets the clinical drug demand [4-6]. Microencapsulation is one of the processing methods of pharmaceutical resin composite preparation. The common methods include fluid bed coating and solvent evaporation. The microencapsulation technology of drug resin composite by surface coating was studied. According to the characteristics of the ion exchange resin, the surface coating technology is to coat the drug resin composite with the material containing quaternary ammonium group by the ion exchange method. In this method, the quaternary ammonium group in the acrylic resin (such as Eudragit RS100, etc.) and the remaining sulfonic group in the ion exchange resin after the ion exchange with the drug are combined with each other, while the long chain molecules of the acrylic resin are coated on the outer surface of the drug resin composite for shielding, so as to slow down the entry of anti ions and regulate the release rate of the drug. In this study, chlorphenamine maleate (1) was used as the model drug, and Amberlite IRP 69 was used as the carrier to prepare the drug resin composite. Eudragit RS100 was used as the surface coating material to coat the drug resin composite, and the technological parameters of the surface coating technology were investigated to prepare the drug resin composite microcapsules with good sustained-release performance.
