Abstract
The similarities and differences of two different catalyst recovery processes in the process of producing adipic acid by nitric acid oxidation were described. It is pointed out that the mobile bed ion exchange process is superior to the fixed bed ion exchange process and its popularization value.

Copper and vanadium used in the oxidation reaction of adipic acid production by nitric acid oxidation are catalysts, which are expensive and consume a large amount every year, seriously affecting the production cost. In order to save and increase efficiency, cation exchange resin is needed to recover the copper and vanadium catalyst in the production process. The most commonly used catalyst (copper vanadium) recovery device in adipic acid production process is fixed bed or moving bed ion exchange process, and the fixed bed ion exchange process is widely used at present. Its action principle is: the ion exchange resin uses porous spherical polymer with sulfonic acid group (- SO3H)
