Light curing lamp (also known as light curing machine) is a kind of oral medical equipment used in the repair of polymer light curing composite resin. According to different light sources, it can be divided into halogen curing lamp and LED curing lamp.
Halogen lamp is to add halogen into the filament of incandescent lamp to improve the luminous efficiency of incandescent lamp. After aging, the light intensity decreases and the curing effect decreases.
LED (light emitting diode) is a kind of semiconductor device which can convert electric energy into visible light. It is made of gallium (GA), arsenic (as), phosphorus (P), nitrogen (n) and other compounds. It can directly convert electricity into light.
LED light curing lamp is a high-power LED array chip as the light source, light wavelength, narrow distribution, small size, no power line, easy to carry, light thermal radiation, long life (up to tens of thousands of hours), no external power supply.
LED light curing lamp, whose special semiconductor diode emits low intensity narrow spectrum light through electric activation, is different from the hot filament light production of halogen lamp. The light source wavelength generated by LED light curing lamp is 470-488nm, which can shorten the polymerization time of resin, reduce the polymerization shrinkage rate, improve the polymerization conversion rate, and generate less heat. It is an ideal light source of light curing composite resin.
