Application of zircon sand in foundry industry
Coating is a very important material in the foundry industry, which has a great influence on the appearance quality and internal quality of castings. In recent years, with the rapid development of casting coating technology, the performance and function of the coating are continuously improved, and the types of coating are more and more abundant.
There are many pores in the surface layer of sand core. The size of pores is determined by the original sand size and compactness. The larger and more pores are, the simpler liquid metal will enter into them to form mechanical sand. For the original sand with a certain size, the pore size between the sand particles mainly depends on the compactness.
Due to the structural differences of sand cores, the habits of molding or core making operators, and the fluidity of core sand and other factors, it is difficult to achieve the same compactness of all parts of the sand cores in the casting production practice, especially in the corners, or thin-walled sand core orchids and other parts that are difficult to be solid, it is easy to present compactness, and in the loose parts of the core, it is easy to have liquid metal penetration.
In order to overcome this problem, the coating should be able to saturate the outer surface of the sand core and fill the open space with fire-resistant aggregate particles to effectively seal, so as to eliminate or reduce the metal penetration.
