In addition to benzene solvent, alcohol ether and ether ester solvent, some toxic and harmful solvents with low content and many varieties are also used in the coating, which is harmful to human health and environment. At present, the domestic solvent coating still accounts for more than 50%, and the proportion of solvent coating is only 1.38% per year. However, it is difficult to replace it with absolutely non-toxic solvent for a while. It will be the focus of work in the future to develop and select low toxic solvent instead of toxic and harmful solvent. At present, China has begun to enforce the national standard "limit of harmful substances in interior wall coatings for interior decoration materials", which stipulates that VOCs of interior wall latex paint should be less than or equal to 200g / L, and VOCs content should be less than 100g / L if the green environmental protection mark is to be obtained. For industrial coatings in automobile, road, manufacturing and other industries, VOCs emission is relatively low. As a high-end technology field of coating industry, automobile coating and coating process are the most energy consuming and VOCs emission links in automobile manufacturing. The limit of harmful substances in automobile coatings stipulates the allowable limit of harmful substances to human body and environment in the original coatings, repair coatings and parts coatings for passenger cars, commercial vehicles, trailers and automobiles. In the face of increasing environmental requirements, automotive waterborne coatings are playing an increasingly important role. Water based coating, powder coating and high solid content coating will gradually replace the traditional solvent based intermediate coating and top coating, and become the mainstream of modern environmental protection automobile coating. At present, the production capacity of domestic automotive coatings is about 500000 tons, but the high-end automotive coatings market is divided by the joint ventures or wholly-owned enterprises of PPG, BASF, Kansai and other international giants in China. Nearly 9 joint-venture brands such as Japan, the United States, Germany, etc. have adopted automotive waterborne coatings in Chengdu, and China's automotive coatings can only occupy a small share in the middle and low-end markets such as auto parts and trucks. At the same time of introducing and innovating the technology of automotive waterborne coatings, the coating manufacturers should cooperate with the automotive manufacturers to enter the industrial test of automotive coatings and accelerate the promotion of waterborne coatings. Compared with solvent paint, water-based paint has the following characteristics: water-based paint uses water as solvent, saving a lot of resources; water-based paint eliminates the risk of fire during construction; reduces air pollution; water-based paint only uses a small amount of low toxicity The organic solvent of alcohol and ether can improve the working environment. The organic solvent (accounting for 10% ~ 15%) of general waterborne coatings, while the cathodic electrophoretic coatings have been reduced to less than 1.2%, which has significant effect on reducing pollution and saving resources; waterborne coatings can be directly applied on wet surfaces and humid environments; waterborne coatings have good adaptability to material surfaces and strong coating adhesion; waterborne coating tools can be cleaned with water, which greatly reduces cleaning dissolution Consumption of agent; even and smooth electrophoretic coating of water-based coating. It is believed that in the near future, our country, which pays more and more attention to environmental protection, will continue to formulate strict VOCs regulations.
