Principle and application of organic fluorine electret material which can make the melt blown cloth reach 95 grade

Materials used as electret air filter need excellent dielectric properties, such as high body resistance and surface resistance, high dielectric breakdown strength, low moisture absorption and air permeability. This kind of materials are mainly polymer based organic electret materials, such as non-polar materials: polypropylene, polytetrafluoroethylene, hexafluoroethylene / polytetrafluoroethylene copolymer, etc.; polar or weak polar materials: polytetrafluoroethylene, polypropylene (blending) and polyester, etc.
High melting point polypropylene resin has become the first choice material for melt spray plus electrostatic process because of its excellent processing performance, low cost and good electret performance. However, in practice, its electrostatic retention capacity is greatly affected by temperature, humidity, storage time and other factors, which leads to unstable filtration efficiency. In order to know the charge quantity, charge speed, charge stability under different conditions, filtration efficiency and voltage drop of the static charge on the surface of the melt blown cloth, researchers at home and abroad have made extensive research on the electret technology and electret masterbatch technology.
Fluorine is the most electronegative element with the greatest ability to "get electrons". The electrons captured by fluorine atoms are not easy to escape, which can effectively improve the filtering performance and service life of filter materials. With the help of various plasma plus electrostatic technologies such as AC corona or DC corona, some saturated fluorine atoms are ionized. Under some technical conditions, these fluorine particles can even be partially combined with polypropylene fiber to form the so-called "hybrid" materials in the field of scientific research. In China, Donghua University and other institutions have conducted in-depth research on the filtration performance of this hybrid material in PP melt blown cloth. Nanjing Tianshi New Material Technology Co., Ltd. produces ultra-fine organic fluorine electret powder for melt blown cloth by using the experience accumulated in fluorine chemical industry and ultra-fine powder processing technology for many years. Superfine organic fluorine electret powder tf11 has a very high electrostatic capacity. The addition of 0.05-0.2% in the melt blown cloth can greatly improve the filtration efficiency. It is mainly used in the production of melt blown cloth with filtration efficiency of 95 or 99. Compared with other inorganic powder materials, ultra-fine organic fluorine powder has lubricity and better compatibility with polypropylene resin. It is relatively easy to make electret masterbatch, and it is not easy to block spinneret. Tf11 organic fluorine electret powder is very fine with high melting point, which can be seen as filler in the process of melt spraying. Different from the fluorine-containing materials mentioned in some literatures, tf11 itself will not be fibrotic, and a slightly higher addition amount is not expected to affect the fineness of melt blown fiber.
The electret masterbatch was obtained by compounding Tianshi tf11 with PP of melt finger 1500. The addition amount of tf11 in the electret masterbatch was 5-10%. The addition was also related to the process conditions of the specific equipment. In principle, it would be easier to extrude at a slightly lower temperature. By mixing with PP powder, 5-15% of tf11 organic fluorine electret powder can be directly added into the PP production process of fusing finger 1500 to directly produce electret masterbatch. The electret masterbatch produced according to the above method is added with 1-3% in the melt blown cloth formula, or the content of tf11 is calculated to be 0.1-0.2%. Some customers also tried to add 0.2% of tf11 organic fluorine electret powder into PP powder through pre preparation of masterbatch and other ways to produce high melting finger melt spray material with electret material.
