IOTA 6289 is a polymer of polymethyl alkyl-functionalized silicone resin with low viscosity.
When incorporated into cement-based formulations, it disperses in aqueous slurry.
Its addition reaction imparts hydrophobicity and significantly reduces water uptake.
During cement curing, the alkoxy and methyl silane groups react with cement hydrates.
It is suitable for applications requiring protection against liquid water penetration into substrates.

Advantages (as cement matrix additive):
1. Reduces capillary water absorption.
2. Minimizes issues such as efflorescence caused by water ingress and soluble salt migration.
3. Lowers VOC release during reaction.
Applications:
1. Improves overall hydrophobicity of cement-based materials and marble materials.
2. Functions as a hydrophobic agent for integral waterproofing of cement-based materials.
Directions for Use:
Dilute before application.
1. For surface waterproofing of stone or concrete: dilute with alcohol solvent to 5%–10% concentration and apply by spraying or brushing. Cure at ambient temperature under moist conditions to form a durable waterproof film.
2. Used as release agent and surface protectant for stone, concrete, marble, etc.
Packaging and Storage:
1. Packed in 20 kg, 190 kg, or 1000 kg drums; custom packaging available.
2. Store unopened in original container below 32 °C (90 °F) in a dry location. Avoid direct sunlight, contact with alkaline materials, and high temperatures.
3. Shelf life: 18 months under recommended storage conditions.
