Product describe:
IOTA 6864 is a self-emulsifying waterborne silicone resin emulsion. This emulsion can be used with suitable heat-stable pigments and fillers and serves as an excellent base material for high-temperature resistant waterborne coatings. The emulsion can air-dry at room temperature, making it especially suitable for large anti-corrosion equipment that cannot be baked. The coating has good film fullness, high gloss, excellent hardness, and can be blended with compatible acrylic, epoxy, and polyester emulsions.
Product features:
a) Room-temperature self-drying: No baking required, suitable for on-site construction and large structural components;
b) High-temperature resistance: Long-term resistance from 200–800°C, with short-term peaks at even higher temperatures;- High gloss and fullness: Combines decorative and protective properties;
c) Excellent hardness and adhesion: Surpasses conventional waterborne and some oil-based systems;
d) Good compatibility: Can be blended with acrylic, epoxy, and polyester emulsions to enhance overall performance;
e) Low VOC: Waterborne and environmentally friendly, compliant with regulations;
f) Flexible processing: Supports single-component self-drying, low-temperature baking at 180–200 °C, or two-component curing with a curing agent.
Technical index:
Appearance: Milky white liquid with blue light (visual inspection)
Solvent content (wt%): ≤5
Solid content(wt%): 50 ± 3
Viscosity (25 °C, mPa·s): 1500–2500

Curing conditions:
Room temperature drying, or 180–200°C baking for 20 minutes, or as a two-component system with a matching curing agent.
Applications:
a) Large anti-corrosion equipment: Steel structures and storage tanks in the petroleum, chemical, and marine engineering industries that cannot be baked;
b) High-temperature components: Surface protection for grills, heaters, mufflers, exhaust pipes, heating plates, etc.;
c) Industrial heat-resistant coatings: Can be formulated with various heat-stable pigments, aluminum powder, and ceramic micro-powders for waterborne high-temperature coatings from 200–800°C;
d) Composite systems: Can be blended with acrylic, epoxy, and polyester emulsions to improve weather resistance, corrosion resistance, and mechanical properties;
e) Class H insulation: Suitable for insulation coatings of high-temperature electrical equipment such as motors and transformers.
Packaging, storage and transportation
a) Packaging: 25/200 kgs drums or customized according to customer requirements.
b) Storage: Store in a cool, dry place at 5–35°C, sealed, avoiding direct sunlight and high temperatures.
c) Transportation: Handled as non-hazardous goods; load and unload carefully to prevent packaging damage.
d) Shelf life: 12 months from the date of production; can still be used if it passes inspection after expiration.
Note:
a) After opening, be careful to avoid contamination; it is recommended to use it up as soon as possible;
b) Avoid contact with acids, alkalis, organic solvents, and amines to prevent gelation or performance degradation;
c) Stir thoroughly before use; slight sedimentation is normal; It is recommended to use in environments between 10–35°C and avoid low temperatures or high humidity during application;
d) If color adjustment or blending with other emulsions is needed, a small test should be conducted first to confirm compatibility.
