Description

Organic Polysilazane IOTA 91033 is liquid low-viscous, solvent free polysilazane resins to be employed as coating binder, with different crosslinking abilities. Featuring a unique Si–NH–Si linkage, the material undergoes high-temperature curing, during which the Si–NH–Si bonds readily react with surface -OH groups on the substrate. This results in excellent interfacial adhesion between the cured resin and the substrate. After curing, the resin forms an organic–inorganic hybrid three-dimensional crosslinked network, endowing the material with superior mechanical properties. It can also be used for the modification of other organic resins.

PROCESSING AND CURING

Pretreatment:

1.    Grease and dust/particle free surface of substrates are required

2.    Sandblasting of metal substrates is recommended

Coating methods:

Painting can be done by spraying, dipping or wiping

Curing conditions:

1.    It can be cured at 130°C for 4h

2.    To high curing temperatures can result in high weight loss

3.    The addition of curing catalysts (e.g. amines, metal chelates) allows a reduction of the curing temperature or time.

Package and storage

1.    Packed with metal container in 100ml, 1L and 5L.

2.    It will release ammonia gas, opened containers should be tightly closed after use to prevent water vapour from entering the product.

3.    Containers must be stored in a cool (at 25 °C max), dry and well ventilated place

4.    Shelf life is 12months.
