Effect of Fluorine and Silicone Surfactants on Adhesion of Water-borne Resin on Plastic Surface (Part II)

03Effect of silicone defoaming agent
In the process of preparation and processing of waterborne resin, it is necessary to add a certain amount of surfactant and carry out high-speed dispersion, which will inevitably form foam. The presence of foam will leave a large number of pores in the plastic coating, making the adhesion decline. Therefore, a certain amount of efficient defoaming agent must be added to eliminate it as much as possible. Silicone defoaming agent because of its higher interfacial activity than foam stability, so its droplets in the water-based resin system gas/liquid interface can play the role of foam inhibition and defoaming. However, the stronger the defoaming ability, the worse the compatibility between defoaming agent and water-based resin system; Excessive use, easy to cause shrinkage hole, fisheye and other coating defects, so that the adhesion decreased.
04The small knot
Add just the right amount of organic silicon in water-based resin dispersant, wetting agent of organic fluorine and silicone defoamer surfactant, as its dosage gradually increases, the stability of its water dispersion system was improved, and increasing the contact area on the surface of the plastic, bubble surface defects caused by shrinking the water-based resin adhesion on the surface of the plastic, gradually improve. However, the dosage of various surfactants must be appropriate.
