Polyether modified silicone is a polyether - siloxane copolymer (referred to as silicone ether copolymer) prepared by introducing polyether chain segment into siloxane molecules. Polyether modified silicone defoaming agent is a new type of efficient defoaming agent that organically combines the advantages of the two. It is a defoaming agent composed of polyether with strong foaming inhibition ability and dimethyl silicone oil with strong hydrophobicity and rapid foaming breakage as the main components and emulsifier and stabilizer that can organically combine silicone oil and polyether. It has the characteristics of low surface tension, rapid defoaming, long foaming time, low cost, small dosage, wide application and so on. The polyether modification of organosilicon makes it have the advantage of second class defoaming agent, and becomes a kind of defoaming agent with good performance and wide application prospect.
In the molecules of the siloxane copolymer, the siloxane segment is the lipophilic group and the polyether segment is the hydrophilic group. Poly (ethylene oxide) chain in polyether chain provides hydrophilicity and foaming property, and poly (propylene oxide) chain provides hydrophobicity and permeability, which has a strong effect on reducing surface tension. The groups at the end of the polyether chain also have a great influence on the properties of the silicone ether copolymer. Common end groups are hydroxyl, alkoxy, etc. Adjusting the relative molecular weight of the siloxane segment in the copolymer can make the properties of organosilicon accentuate or weaken the copolymer. Similarly, changing the relative molecular weight of the polyether segment will increase or decrease the proportion of organosilicon in the molecule, which will also affect the properties of the copolymer.
