Large-scale commercial application of polysiloxane in industrial coatings appeared in the 1990s, the current use alone is not large.
By using polysiloxane with a number of organic monomers and polymers, formulation designers can develop specific blends that have both organic and inorganic material properties. The "organic-inorganic hybrid" coating uses an organic modified resin mixed with polysiloxane resin.
With the development of hybrid coatings, the application of polysiloxane resin will develop greatly, and the final explosion may be the result of technology, environmental pressure and cost performance.
